I think your room right now is very neutral and allowing almost any color, but the best answer to hiding dog hair will be pattern, not solid color.

Looks like you decided not to add wallpaper (per your other post), which allows more options for bedding. If you get a duvet/cover, it‘s easy to wash. I have both black and white pets and using a large throw across the bottom helps. Color wise, light/dark both have pros and cons. A pattern may help though; main thing is to complement/tie the room together.

Can you provide a picture of the paper - complementing will influence your bedding choice.

Do you think going dark on dark would be too weighted (dark wall + dark duvet), considering the other side of the room doesn't have much dark to balance? That is my biggest concern.

What is your issue about showing use the actual room.

I am still in the planning stages, so I have not seen a sample in person yet. If paint works better in terms of matching decor, I may go that route.

When you have finished the cocept then come back and we can help with bedding . I usually use the bedding for the the colorscheme so now I need to see the real space to actually really give good advice . I almost always do white sheets if thta helps .I also need to see the wallpaper.I also never like duvets on a platform bed and the bed you show will require a coverlet if you want to make the bed so the base shows.

Thats good advice. I’m more of an architectural designer by trade, so the softer elements like bedding are not my strong suit.

I can relate to that I am not a decorator but i owned a renovation comppany for a long time and give me a sledge hammer and I am happy. Redesigning space and kitchens are my happy place . In fact I often turn the decor part over to someone who loves that part of the job. Some clients I fit really well with others just not my style.

Instead of making a commitment to the black wallpaper (cost and effort) maybe get a quart of black paint, to see its color effect in the room. Only consider bedding once that’s decided and to get ideas, search on line for inspiration. Your renditions are really nice and just trust your instincts.

Of your options, I like olive best and light gray second-best. Agree that pattern might serve you better; honestly, with the neutral setting, I'd for a couple duvets to express different moods (or at least seasons).

Honestly, with a dog that sheds, consider no rug at all. Easier to clean. Hair sticks to rugs. Pattern bedding for sure. I am really loving the color black this year and I agree with @Maureen, paint first and see if this really works for you. Then look into wallpaper.
Maybe consider a bench at the end of the bed, if there is room. If not consider a chair in your, a great place to sit and put on shoes.
Get a great looking dog bed and give that puppy a place to come to. A large basket to hold the dog’s toys. A place for everything and everything in its place.

I’d go black and play off the black white and earthy accents like rug, pillows, lamps drapes art…you can use texture in the comforter or bedding to have same black but different materials!!

Painting the main color of the wallpaper will make the wallpaper ing easier. But after you paint you need to wait weeks for the paint to cure.
