Can there be too much black

A designer chose/help select my bathroom remodel backsplash for tub surround new countertops,grasscloth wallpaper,flooring..my niece who has best taste,designer skills.ive NEVER disagreed with niece on my house decor choices.. soo my backsplash is the 24x48 tiles and countertop for vanity is a quartz. And she hated flooring,so I'm back to white hexagon tiles. Which countertop is best? I wanted slab for tub surround but too pricey and can not find someone to install.she says only wallpaper around vanity.. decorator says whole bathroom w different choice.

jet black counter,York wallpaper,above vanity only,

noir vanity top by silestone,thibaut wallpaper.all walls

Yes, you can have too much black. Anything more than an accent of black must be balanced with light -- preferably natural light -- and we don't know how much light you have in this bathroom.

How big is your bathroom? Those tiles seem too large. We're talking about the item with the gold tone, right? That's not the quartz.

so I'm back to white hexagon tiles.

I like hex tiles, especially the small ones. What kind of theme /vibe are you looking for? Would you consider wood (or wood-look) floors?

Which countertop is best?

Depends upon what theme /vibe you want. Your countertop and your floor should "relate" but not matchy-match. Remember that you have that gold tone in the backsplash ... it'd be good to tie into that tone.

I would not put grasscloth in a bathroom, the grass is going to absorb ambient moisture, even if it does not get wet.

If you have been happy with choices your niece has made for you in the past, then I would probably go with her choices as she must know you better than any stranger you might hire. Not all people with design abilities have a design degree and/or run a design business! And like with all other majors ... someone graduated at the bottom of the class ... it might be your designer! She might not even be a certified Interior Designer if she calls herself a decorator. Trust your instincts.

Grasscloth had been in the bathrooms since built 1960.i am not afraid to use. The decorator chose this for entire bathroom.i loved.niece said I could use over vanity only for high end look.but green cabinets. I hadn't seen but 1 green on houzz.i love green for a kitchen. I tend to go mcm or Hollywood glam as my home built in 60s

You’d think after over 6 months I’d be done. I must have hired every bad craftsman in Ms until I got my doors/ drawers redone . But I listened to my niece and she was right. No knobs yet but I chose several. All knobs.
