Hidden door hinges

We are just building a house and are installing a hidden door in a panel wall. The way that the door opens we would like it open more than 90 degrees, as the office will be set up as shown in the picture - so if it doesnt open past 90 we will have to kind of walk around it to get to the desk.

The panel wall is in the hallway/powder room side, so in order to keep it flush they would push the door hinge more to the top of the picture... so we would need a hinge that would come out to allow that door to come past the jam?

Or do all hidden doors only open 90 degrees?

You can buy door jambs with Soss or RocYork mortised-in concealed hinges that open as wide as a regular door.

I had a look at their website and it is hard to say if the swing would clear the jam? if the wall panelling was on the office side those would work for sure

Not necessarily? The door would need to be custom ordered to match the rest of the hallway paneling, but i am not really familiar with the process - we have a builder who will coordinate it

I don't think you'll find any hinge that meets those requirements. Why don't you change the door swing?

@seabornman we have already wired in the electrical, so we may swap the swing but wanted to check to see if there were any hinges available first. We may just use some wireless switches instead of requiring due to cost
