At one time in my life I had been a mechanic. A job that I really enjoy. But I had a bug in me that I needed to explore. Back in high school when they taught woodworking I found a passion with wood. And decided that I wanted to be a woodworker. Opened up a little one man shop and enjoyed the work. But running a business took away any free time.

I am proud to say that a kitchen along with 3 staircases lots of trim and a dining room table that expanded to 14 feet. Has been on different tv shows a few times.

I was wondering if folks still do this type of work. And use solid wood drawers with dovetails. And try to match any theme that a custom would want. Truly custom.

I'm not going to open another shop or anything. Just curious if there are skilled craftsfolks out there doing this anymore. And maybe that urge may come back. But probably stick to something like front entry doors.
