just start by understanding.. that foundation plantings are planted to hide the foundation... NOT ON THE FOUNDATION... search up images of mature size plants.. and then plant the tiny babes you by far enough from the house to include a 2 foot walkway at the foundation for maintenance ...

nothing is more disturbing to a gardener.. and home owner.. is to see 8 foot plants 2 feet from the house.. and leaning out and away from the house..

also understand.. that not all plants are watered the same.. lawn watering is not proper for perennial watering.. and that is the base idea between irrigation zones.. and how they are used..

and almost no plants should be watered the first year... by irrigation.. protect your investment.. by hand watering.. until the plants are fully established... and you understand the water they need in your locale and weather.. soil... drainage.. etc..

Trying again with pic. Thanks for the input. I am not trying to plant a tree or anything unruly in front of the bay window but I think the area needs some height or visual interest. I’ve thought about a bird bath or something as well. My concern is that most of the house has a typical foundation under a window this bay window goes all the way to the floor so I’m not sure what height of plant would be appropriate. I’m an avid gardener and our climate is challenging so I am not looking for specific plant recommendations just ideas as to what type of landscaping people do in this situation. :)

I don’t know anything about Florida landscaping, but I’d probably start with ripping out all four of these if they are the typical yews or junipers. As is, they just look trimmed to death and are not attractive at all.

However, if they are some other type of shrub with redeeming qualities (maybe flowering) perhaps they could be salvageable.

Here are a few ideas:

I think groundcover would be fine for the area closest to the house. It will only get morning sun, I think. I like the idea of a bird bath or sculpture further out from the bay window. The house is impressive so I don't think you need to start with a lot to make it look good. I suggest not hiding the columns or narrowing the entrance as it was in the picture you provided. The columns looked like they had fat green feet.
