How big is the kitchen area was? I like the idea of microwave countertops! Where did you put oven?

You can see a step up into a hallway by the refrigerator. I added that to connect to the former entry foyer of this home. They seldom used the entry door as it was more convenient to just walk down the hill from their garage directly into the kitchen. I proposed converting the entry into a walk-in pantry. They used their former range and added another refrigerator in there. The owner also stores his bike there as he rides it to work!
