Is this your home or is it a rental? I ask because I was wondering if you can paint the walls a very different color. Rug is a warm brown..

We own and partial to black and white. I'll add some more photos but the rooms are little messy post Christmas.

Thank you. I'm planning to fully remove the farmhouse decor. I'm hoping to keep some of the larger furniture pieces but they are pretty farmhouse'y (distressed wood, slats, planks, etc). Maybe if I use decorative accents it will be less noticeable. Or I may have to replace the furniture some day too.

tbrown - baby steps! I found that when I want a real change for anything - my house decor, my garden style, my hair or clothing - baby steps are best! You could first remove all the obvious farmhouse decor & present yourself with a clean slate look. Then start browsing & see what appeals. Your main large furniture pieces - sofa, dining table, bedroom set - will make the transition to a new look easily. For example - the throw pillows on bed - change out the B & W buffalo check to ?? whatever it is color wise you are envisioning. Maybe in that room you start with the new art on wall where mirror is / was & pull color from that. See - baby steps. Have fun with it. There’s no deadline or pressure!
