I am a bit concerned about your stovetop placement as it’s on the way. Is there a lot of traffic usually? I switched fridge and stove around in a somewhat similar settings but range went to outdoor wall

yeah we tend to walk a lot in that pathway right now but good point about someone standing there in front of a stove - there is another path directly behind the kitchen with a dedicated hallway so I think if someone was cooking at the stove the person would use that path to the family room as it is just as direct.

Having sinks or cooktops in the island have their downsides. I agree you can do better than your current arrangement though.

I like having a lot more room in front of fridge so is easy to access by someone just grabbing something, not blocking an aisle. Looks tight in your layout and especially if DW open.

All your workzones in the proposed layout are in the major pathway through the kitchen. Can you move the openings to the other end so that the pathway is now the area in front of the sliding door?

there's a large hallway that runs right behind the proposed range that goes to the family room - if people were to see traffic in kitchen they can easily walk that way - there is no way to move those doorways and it doesn't make sense with the rest of the house flow

here's a better schematic of the clearance spaces - I think I would rather have 48" between sink and range than behind counter stool seating....
