The price of the home IMO has little to do with doing a kitchen that is the right one for you. I have done Ikea kitchens in all price range homes including million dollar ones. The fact is you need a good independant kitchen designer who understands your style , how you use the space and that is how you start this process. I think reviews are often a bit biased so not a big deal for me . I do my own investigation on quality and IMO a lot is decided by knowing what you have to have to make you happy. I love very contemporary kitchens that function well for my clients and that is what you need from your KD. Are you dooing wood cabinets or painted , what is your style what is the space like, how do you cook so many things go into this that need looking into. I think both those companies have good reputations but are they what you need? Where do you live ? Shipping RTI cabinets is always risky so Form is RTI and the further they ship and the more the pieces are handled the more issues arise. I know many who think Ikea is cheaply made becuase they are RTA but in Europe kitchens often move from house to house so I think the fact than Ikea is made for that use makes them awesome not mention one of the best warranties in the busines, but only you can make the choice of what you need along with working with a really good designer .

Thanks the the response. While style etc is definitely important, my question was more geared towards quality and longevity of the hardware, finishes, drawer mechanism etc.

Stylistically, I would describe our overall theme to be "California modern".

The price of the home doesn't help us without the location or average homes size/price. In some areas $2.5M will get you 0.3 acre land value with a tear down shack and in other areas it will get you a new "mansion" on several acres. Most other areas will fall somewhere between those two examples!

You said “California modern”…so yes Form fits the style. Form is rebranded/resold Nobilia out of Germany per my understanding. If you are in SoCal you can take a look at Nobilia in person in Newport.

I recently looked into Cabico and loved the product. Ultimately we did not choose it for Reasons but the "Essence" line (entry level, less optioned) was very competitively priced.

Neither are high end choices. But maybe that house price is entry level?

ABNormal how would you know we have no info as to any part of the house really not even the kitchen for that matter . Form are in San Francsici Design center why not make a trip San Fran is anice place to visit then you can see first hand and ask lots of questions . European made cabinets are made differently than US and also very aware of the environment in many things the y build . You need to see them in person not matter what company you choose it takes time and effort to satisfy your needs . That is wahy I advise finding a high end independant kitchen designer who speacializes in contemporary kitchen design.

We are in process on a build I also call “California modern”, although at a lesser build cost. We looked at:

Bauformat
Leicht
Siematic
Nobilia
Form (US based reseller of nobilia)

US
Henrybuilt
Spacetheory by Henrybuilt
2 local custom cabinet makers

We did not look at the Italian brands like Pedini.

We looked at ikea too with custom/semi custom fronts, which we eliminated relatively early.

All were frameless, flat front.

Out of these, we found custom build and Nobilia to be about the same price. Other German makes were 50-100% more. Henrybuilt was on par with the other German in pricing. To us, Henrybuilt had a softer, more contemporary feel. The German brands to us were more modern and minimalist. The customs were trying to replicate the German look but we felt like fit and finish were perhaps not the same as the German.

Again, we live in SoCal so it was easy for us to see these products in person.
