Where to put the couch? We’re going to redo this basement area and plan to purchase a sectional couch with a chaise to go in place of the two current couches. There is a 10” wide x 4” deep bumpout in the corner of the room and we cant decide whether we should put the couch along wall before the bumpout (leaving the side open) or after the bumpout (leaving 4” behind the couch with the chaise against the wall). What would you do? we need to make a decision before buying the couch as its up to a 10” difference in size.

Pictures of the current space along with two pictures of the two options in floorplanner. we also plan to replace the rug and coffee table and will be changing the bookcase nook to a tv stand where the tv will then move to. The area next to the couch will be a kids play area. Also open to other suggestions for the space!
