There are stains for brick, so it can definitely be done.

I would want to know what is possible from a pro not some stain paint guy .Its brick it is often orange why not add some rugs and some seat cushions and the n see if you need to do anything with the brick I find the furniture dead looking without cushions a bigger deal to me than the brick.

The color of the fire feature bothers me more than the brick. All the other grays are warm and the concrete is a very cold gray. Are you planning to add some side tables to place a drink on? It looks unfinished without them.

Thank you for your comments. The color palette of our home does not match the orange brick. We started the project using existing old brick but had to buy new brick to complete the project. We really should have just poured new concrete to match the rest of the house instead. This new brick is orange and does not match. I would like to tone it all down. I am including other pics of our yard to give you an idea. There must be some solution. I do not have cushions or rugs out because it is winter and we are completing the patio and trying to figure this color issue out. Thank you for any suggestions!

These aren't mortared in are they? See if you can pull some out randomly and replace them with whitewashed ones like around the firepit. Then they'll blend better and you don't have to do anything like a stain which is a pretty iffy proposition with these dark bricks.

Do you know if these are actual fired clay brick or concrete thats been colored red... or some combination? Maybe old is clay brick and new is concrete? There's all kinds of masonry stains, dyes, some specific for pavers and driveways (some requiring acid etch and some not).... and professionals out there who can apply them. IMHO that would be an easier, more affordable route than trying to pull out and re-lay, even without mortar they are jammed tight together - looks like they did a good job with everything straight and level says this DIYer who tried installing pavers last summer. Not easy! Are you artistic - there are methods to faux- age new brick, or you can just wait for them to fade and darken naturally.

Has anyone does a grey wash on orange brick? I would love to see photos. Maybe a sheer wash?
