We recently removed a large dead tree which opened up more spare to entertain, so we decided to expand the BBQ island which had concrete counter tops. Now we are so indecisive on what counter tops to use. We toured a few slab yards and were told to go by only the black granite or Dekton, since the area is exposed to full sun. We would like to steer away from dark grey simply because we had it for many years and would prefer to have a happier looking slabs. Dekton offered a few options while they are the priciest we thought ok if it will withstand all weather elements and need not be covered. My vision is the simple, organic, olive trees, whites and beiges which are big nowadays, also thinking of cladding the exterior of bar with wood to give it some warmth. What are your thoughts? I appreciate all the feedback back.
