Your whole house should be one temperature. I usually use 3000 on my more contemporary projects and 2700 on my traditional homes. Never ever mixed.

Our LEDs are 3000K throughout the home. All are on dimmers.

My kitchen had older GX23-2, 3500K plug-in CFL's in recessed housings. Two burned out so I replaced them with 4000K "plug and play" LEDs that didn't require removal of the housings' ballasts.* Oops! I wish I'd stayed with 3500K; 4000K light is pretty harsh.

4000k is hospital room bright. Having once been an 8 month guest of a major NYC hospital, I know of what I speak.

If you are talking about LED bulbs, they don’t come in 3500K. LEDs are offered at 2200K, 2700K, 3000K, 4000K, and 5000K.

Right. There are also selectable LED bulbs where 3500K is a option but those aren't suitable for your application.

It depends on the type of bulb required. 1000bulbs.com has selectable bulbs that include the 3500K option for A19, BR20, BR30, and BR40 bulbs. Some pendant lights (example) use plain old A19 bulbs.
