I do have to say I am somewhat intrigued by what I saw yesterday. I walked around a few blocks and noticed that most of the witch hazels seem to be either Arnold’s promise or Diane/jelena based upon flower collection.

They are all very popular selections and widely available, so no surprise :-)

You might want to visit the Winter Garden at the Washington Park Arboretum. They have an excellent selection so good for judging habit, appearance and fragrance. Also Van Dusen Gardens in BC.
