O daylilies 2024
We are finishing out the week with O daylilies. Just a few O daylilies for me. Monday will be P and Q daylilies.
i took a walk around my gardens today and noticed I have daylilies that still have green foliage…..never happens here, until now.
Orchid Corsage blooms were pale last season, also had lower bud count.
Orange Smoothie did decently. This is a replacement plant, its second season here.
Olallie KEITH is new to the garden. I’m Glad to have another late bloomer.

2 years agolast modified: 2 years agoThat's a really nice picture of Orange Smoothie. I love the edges on it. It performs so well for me that I hope yours will do the same this season.....The only "O" daylily I can readily
get my hands on right now is one I baby along each year because I love the blooms so much with their large yellow edge around a deep orchid/mauve color.

2 years agoIn my opinion,this is the most unusual daylily that i grow: OUR NEW KERMITMENT. I'm not sure I like it, but it is different. It was gifted to me by a friend in Maryland, because I would not buy it. I will be curious to what it looks like in clump strength.
OFF BEAT: One of two Maryott's that I still grow. This one is vigorous in Zone 5. I divided the entire clump and left two fans for myself two years ago and I had 4 fans last year.
ONCE OVER LIGHTLY: A Bennett introduction.
OKLAHOMA SAND BURR: I wasn't quite sure if this one was going to survive the winters here. It continues to improve each year. I suspect that this is one that does not like being disturbed.

Orchid Corsage had a darker year for me this past year.
Olallie Autumn Gold, one of the very last to bloom in late August-September.

2 years agoSherry, I have found a few that are green too. I am surprised since when we had the cold temperatures, we didn't have much snow.
On the Lookout is the one with perfectly green fans up several inches. This daylily presents a problem, though. The description in the database says it's white with a red eye. The National Gardening Association shows a photo that looks like this one. I wonder if the registrar made a mistake or did the hybridizer make the mistake. Or is it just mislabeled?
O'Bannon Orchid is a reverse bitone, not a very common type.
One Hot Mama has beautiful flowers, but doesn't increase for us.
Orchids for Minnie is a good grower.
