Kate: After 3 or 4 attempts over the years I finally had to give up on Pink Aloha. But looking at your picture reminds me how lovely the color and edges are. My next pick is Pansy Face. I like Pansies quite a bit and a colorfast daylily with a yellow pansy face is right up my alley. I'll be waiting for your reports on this one......Sherry: I like the plant but wonder why it's called "Purple" Paw Print. Maybe the purple color is not translating well on my monitor?......I'd say Patricia Snyder Memorial is happy with you. It's a winner. Pizza Crust is another "fan" favorite of yours..........Maryl

Maryl, Pansy Face Charmer is a Maryott and we know those are hit or miss so it will be interesting to see how this one performs. It was a bonus plant.

I know there are lots I forgot and that’s OK but Pink Panther Paws was outstanding and deserves a look!

My favorites today are Pansy Face Charmer, Queen of Narnia, and Porterhouse.

I have some P's but no Q's to post. Quiet Wyatt and Quite the Bite are the two Q's we grow, but I haven't gotten photos of them recently.

Penguin Tuxedo is fairly new to the garden (planted in 2022). I really like its look.

Perfectly White Teeth is another newish one. It spent 2022 in a pot and then was planted. It looks like it has a lot of potential.

Phill Warbasse is much taller than Rose F. Kennedy.

Pineapple Bites is a favorite here.

Pink Stripes

Pink Viper is another newish one. I was impressed with its strong tall scapes.

Princess Sonja is taking its time increasing, but the flowers are nice.

Kate: I've grown a couple of Maryotts but not long enough to comment on their overall performance. They were both here the year I got rust (which they caught OR caused) and were pitched out along with the rest of the rusters. I will not tolerate rust in my garden. If yours holds it's color well, that would be a major plus for a Maryott.......Debra: That's so nice of you to think of me and Pink Aloha. Unfortunately my small garage is packed over winter already with no room to spare. We have to take pots off the car when we want to drive it out. Will the plants you take up "north" be more for breeding or for enjoyment? Btw, Pink Aloha aside, Porterhouse catches my admiring gaze this round.......Nan: Perfectly White Teeth (is that really the name?) is a pretty one.......Brad: What a great shot of Peacock Maiden. A UF enabler if there ever was one. And of course I always enjoy Paiges Piniata..............I have a few P's, and will post them later............Maryl

Maryl - I'm thinking of moving back to my hometown of Indianapolis. That's where my sister and a lot of my cousins live, along with many friends from high school and college. I will be downsizing to a small house with a much smaller yard than I now have. Of course, I'll take my own introductions and many of my most promising seedlings. The registered ones I take will either have a lot of hybridzing value or will be ones I really love. While Pink Aloha is pretty, it doesn't make the cut of my top three favorite pinks or the three best performing pinks. I'll also be keeping in mind the ones that are likely to thrive farther north, so most of the Emmerichs and Davissons will be on the moving truck. If I do move. it won't be until after this year's blooms are about over. Ideally I'd like to buy a house in July or August and be moving in September.

In my travels across the country before I settled down in Oklahoma I Iived all over the state of Indiana including for a brief time in Indianapolis. I'm sure it's changed since way back then, but I always think of Indiana when I think about the places I've lived that had the prettiest Autumns. Just think too, you won't have any rust to deal with or grubs. A brand new start.......It will be nice to have family around you too.....If your move happens I'd like to hear what your top pinks are for enjoyment (since the value of hybridizing is lost on me).........Maryl

Maryl - My top favorite pinks for enjoyment are Memphis, Bubblegum Delicious and Pink Lemonade Party. The best for hybridizing are $exy Samantha, Grandma's Smile and Dancing Flamingo. And of course I would have to take Divas in Diamonds as a UF and Last Chance for Romance because it blooms later and longer than anything else.

Debra, if you move to Indy, you need to check out Hoosier Daylily Society. We are currently meeting in Carmel, a suburb of Indy although that might change as we have lost our meeting place after about 20 years.

Maryl, there was something weird going on with Perfectly White Teeth's name. When we purchased it, the name was given as "White Teeth'. When I was making the tag for it, I couldn't find that name in the database. I went to the hybridizer's site and found this current name. I suspect the registrar disallowed 'White Teeth' since there was already 'White Tooth'.

There are so many great looking ones. PATRICIA SNYDER MEMORIAL looks great. PINK VIPER, PSYCHO CIRCUS, PEACOCK MAIDEN, PURPLE RIOT and PERFECTLY WHITE TEETH are also great looking.

Here are my contributions:

PROPER STRANGER: Big flat bagel bloom. Out of Siloam Ralph Henry. Is not a rapid increaser, but I love it. Front of the border plant.

POLY ESTER: Did not poly this year. BIg flower and an attention getter early in the season. Increase is moderate. It reaches its registered height.

PERSIAN RUBY: Out of RUBY SPIDER. It is taller than RS. It increases well.

PINEAPPLE BITES: This is a very good plant.

PARADISE BAR AND GRILL: Love the color of this one.

PEGGY JEFFCOAT: A fantastic double. Many large blooms and blooms over a long period of time. A double that will always be in my collection.

PICOTEE DREAM: An old John Benz introduction. Slow to increase, but always above the foliage.

PINEWOOD HOLY KISS: Relatively new. I like it.

POLAR FIZZ: A Bennett intro. Increases well and typically reaches registered bloom height.

PURPLE CHEETAH: Relatively new.

PINK TARANTULA: Still getting established. Should look good this year.

PASSING FANCY: A Bennett intro. This is a good plant. One of my daylily friends is insisting that I hybridize with it. He is a garden judge, so I may heed his advice.

PINK JEANS: A Bennett intro that is somewhat new in my garden. Love the undulating ruffles.

PICKING TIME: Close-up and then a clump shot.

PHILLIES' PINSTRIPE: The pattern looks like this as the season progresses. It almost starts out the season almost all red.

QUEEN OF THE 7 KINGDOMS: This one also changes as the season progresses. This is what it looks like toward the end of the season.

I've had computer problems, so am late posting. Interesting Bennett pinks, including Picking Time and Pink Jeans. Purple Riot must get its rich color from parent Dragon King. Passing Fancy still not showing much here. Sad to hear that Sonja is a slow increaser, as I bought it for spring. Of course, Rose Kennedy in its background. Does Phillies Pinstripes have the slower opening of parent Key to My Heart? Pink Aloha has multiplied well here, but blooms vary quite a bit. Surprised to hear about Debra's moving musings, but then again, being alone myself again, I understand the feeling of vulnerability.

Pink Panther Paws photographs well and is a good grower.

Purple Lives Matter. Still haven't seen it at clump strength. Later blooming (out of White Eyes)

Pray Without Ceasing. Generally, quite recurved like this. Too soon to evaluate.

Purdy Rich. Increases well. Shorter this past summer, though not stunted. Blooms a bit smaller and not as consistent as Diana's Evening Gown, but better grower. I would not call it "lavender" in this climate.

Persian Ruby. I certainly agree with David's positive assessment. Good height here; much better than parent Ruby Spider. Reliable. Only picture from 2023, since I have many of it.

Pineapple Bites. My only pic of this newer plant.

Pewter Lake --this silvery lavender Moldavan is an attractive color in the garden.

MANTIS: PHILLIES' PINSTRIPE is much improved over KEY TO MY HEART. I used to grow KEY TO MY HEART and it left because of poor opening issues. I took a chance on this and have been rewarded.

Mantis - I do like your Pink Panther Paws and Pray Without Ceasing. I've considered adding both in the past. Pink Thunderbird at Crintonic looks wonderful! My inclination would be to take most of my pinks in a move at the exclusion of most everything else. The Color of Wonderful is another pink that I would take before Pink Aloha. PA has never been the registerered height here. It sets very few seeds per pod, has very modest bud count, and doesn't rebloom for me when everything else in that bed does. I suppose for me it goes to the bottom of the list of pinks because it doesn't have a watermark or a gold or white edge.

Pray Without Ceasing is a beautiful thing. Too rich for my blood still, so I'll let others trial it first......Debra: I was wondering about the Color of Wonderful going with you. I sure do like that shade of pink. Hard to find that true pink shade very often. Last year was it's first year to bloom here, so am looking forward to seeing more of its other aspects this year other then the color. It always seemed to grow well for you which is why you enabled me on it........Maryl

Maryl - You are right that The Color of Wonderful has been an excellent performer for me over the years. Mantis didn't seem to have the same luck with it that I did. I love it's color, and it has the watermark and edge I desire. Also it's dormant, which makes it a good candidate for being grown farther north.
