What material did you use for the fireplace surround? Tile? Quartz slab? Thanks!

It was a tile!

We initially bought a tile like this from Emser tile. it cost about $200 for the whole fireplace wall, so not an expensive tile obviously. Then, I fell in love with a very different tile from Emser, and a very different idea, and unfortunately that wasn’t $200 worth of tile.
