A 9x11 would fit better

I feel like rug is headed in a different direction style-wise than the neutrality of the rest of the room. Same with the side tables actually, which might fit in better if they were black rather than grey.

Yes, I agree with Shawna…seems like you want to go in a grey/black direction…maybe because of the black dresser? that is just out of frame?

Back to your question about the rug - is it large enough? No, I don’t think so. Not sure how close to night stands it should be but I think it should be placed so you step on it when getting in /out of bed - so looks like needs to move a bit closer. It should also extend out past the cool bench at foot of bed. Even without the bench there, it’s too skimpy past end of bed & will be even skimpier if you move the other end closer to night stands.

Side note on colors of furniture & rug - I like them all! And, to your question of darker, moodier I agree it would be the perfect touch to add a couple of throw pillows that are the brighter color in rug as well as use black & grey in them to tie in with furniture. Curtains will be a nice finishing touch in room. Or, even something like Roman shades mounted at ceiling so you don’t use up floor space with drapes. If you hang drapes you may need to slide bed to left a bit to allow the drape panel on window closest to bed to stack back next to the nightstand. That’s why I’d consider a soft window treatment that can be pulled up / down & hangs over window vs drape panels hanging down sides of windows.
