Electric fireplace tiles separating

Hello,I moved into my home a little over a year ago and I started using my fireplace regularly about 2 months ago. One day I woke up and t the tile above the fireplace was separating. I continued to use the fireplace & the tile separation continued. I have since stopped & have the installers coming out to evaluate.Before I meet with them I would like to ask if any experts could give me some insight & questions to ask or things I should look for surviving specifically. Was this installed incorrectly or missing a layer of heat safety?Summarize: The tile above the fireplace and the entire length of the mantle (underneath) is hot to the touch including the material behind the tile.Thank you!

No where near enough info to answer the how, but it would definitely not be installed properly for that to happen. If this is a tract or developer home expect a line of BS and the attempt to fix it is simply and cheaply as possible as a bandaid and not properly. You may want to have a mason or experienced contractor you can trust look at it first.

Can you find the brand and model number? often installation info is available on the internet. did the installers leave the instruction and warranty package, maybe the installation instructions are with that package.
