Oh, hey, I accidentally clicked on your poll. I am a pool owner with some knock-off of Pebbletec, but our pool was built in 2011. I do seem to recall our awesome, top-notch pool-builder saying that Pebbletec and the knock-off (was it Stonescapes? I don't recall), were both basically little stones, with the concrete like binder. It's all the same.

Love the pebble finish--never needs to be re-done.

We paid a bit extra to have some shiny, glittering seashells of some type scattered over the top. I love the way it sparkles.
