Ann, we were posting at the same time. Your Junes always look wonderful! I love Pineapple Upside Down Cake! I have one. The more light it gets, the yellower it will get.

Paula, I forgot to mention that my dad was a hugh fan of Belefonte! We had many of his ”vinyls.” I can sing along to most of his song….especially Day-O!

Beth, my Island Breeze is small and my Blueberry Muffin I consider large. It’s all relative, isn’t it? Whenever I see Royal Tiara, I am so happy I bought two. Your Sunshine Glory is a real beacon next to Nigrescens(?). And Wheee is such a fun one,isn’t it? Mine finally got curly the last two years.

Laurie, it’s surprising that Deja Blu and Frosted Dimples are so young! They’re such a good size already…..where do you buy your plants? What do you feed them? Inquiring minds want to know! 😂. Love Emerald Ruff Cut, can’t wait until my Hanky Panky gets that big (or is yours an anomaly?), My Praying Hands went south last year so I’m planning to dig it up and see what’s going on.

Debra I was holding DB & FD in pots until I made room for them so they had a chance to bulk up a bit. I have been at this for decades so I got plants from a lot of different places many of which are no longer operating. They are dropping like flies here and in the US. Years ago I used to get plants from Mark Zilis at Q&Z but then our dollar went for a dive making it difficult to justify. There was a place in Quebec that went out of business a couple of years ago just when they were getting good. There are a couple of local spots but more often than not nothing exciting. I have so many that I am awaiting spots for that I have not been getting a lot of new ones lately. I do have very nice loamy soil and use only compost, either homemade or mushroom. I think my Hanky Panky is the size it is listed to be, I will measure it next year. Your HP should be a fast grower, I know mine was. It is such a beauty and yours has a great start. Oh no, I hope your Praying Hands just needs a rescue from maple roots and will thrive after some TLC.

Debra, thank you for your kind comments. It is strange how different locations hosta grow so differently in size and color. My Royal Tiara struggled until a tree fell and it is in afternoon sun, not what I would expect would help the hosta. Next to Sunshine Glory is World Cup. Wheee! is a fun one, visitors always love the name which matches the plant.
