Mmm that's is tough bc whatever you put over it is going to have "give" with the carpet beneath - but perhaps a vinyl floormat, they get pretty big

You can be sure that if you stain the carpet, the landlord will be making you replace the carpet and pay for it!

I agree a floating laminate is probably the best or sheet vinyl thta is meant to be layed with no glue .

@chispa, thanks, he and I spoke about it. He understood that if the carpet stays, there may be stains. He agreed not to deduct that from my deposit. It’s in the proposed lease.
