As with all flooring, the best way to judge it is to see it in your space with your lighting.

Pictures on the internet are often photoshopped or overlit to improve their appearance.

"Honest" pictures that someone here might post are still greatly affected by their lighting and other choices.

It's best to buy a box and lay it out.

If you can't physically handle a whole box (which would be pretty heavy), then at least get some sample tiles. The problem with borrowing sample tiles from the tile shop is that they will be from different lots and may have aged somewhat differently (aka gotten dirty) than your new tiles will look.
