Help design my living room

Recently moved to this new house and still decorating. We bought a few furnitures and getting a tv delivered soon.

i am not satisfied with how it has come out so far . I have made a few adjustments in the layout but still not satisfied.

Any help is much appreciated before I end up buying more furnitures.

Thanks for the idea. I may do that which was the previous set up actually. I will need to switch the TV wall where the display unit currently is and thinking to buy 2 accent chairs to complete the seating

    Try losing the vertical blinds

    Add some color

    Get a BIG rug

    You need a cocktail table

    You need some lighting

    You need art!

You need some serious softness, some texture, to counteract all the hard and smooth and cold in the space.

As to what? You first need to draw and measure the space, include the dimensions of the couches as well. Feet and inches for every wall window.

Add mote pictures and PLEASE OPEN THE BLINDS?

    Thanks for the great advice.

The rug is already big, Its around 10 by 14 feet.

The room is around 25 by 18 feet. The opposite of the smaller windows is open plan kitchen area. The larger door on the left is sliding door to the backyard. The windows are around 5.5 feet by 2 feet wide.

The size of the couch is about 8 by 8 feet.

I agree to turn the sectional , why a sectional I have no idea but it is there now so make the wall on the right the TV wall with my advice would be look at Besta from Ikea to do the TV some storage and a small amount of display . Remove the display cabinet you have there , Take the blinds off the windows and get some nice drapes for the slider in a color from the new rug and roman shades for the 2 small windows in the same fabric as the drapes . I would start the art with a really large piece on the wall between the windows , get rid if the fake plant . add lighting , you will need to figure that out after rearranging the sectional since plugs for lamps will be an issue , A much more colorful rug will be IMO the place to start , find one you love .This space is large and bigger is not always better . My LR is a tiny bit smaller we have 2 seating areas but no TV Is this the only place for the tV? I see some little pops of orange so maybe a rug like this with nice blue linen windowcoverings

The color of the sofa is too close to the color of the floor, which is why you could use a large, colorful rug and artwork. Be bold with the artwork. The window coverings should be changed too as they're again the same color. The dark TV console was a good choice. Get a coffee table once you're confident about the arrangement of the sofas and can determine which size and shape to get. Look at the picture below. The sofa is the same color as the walls and the underlying carpet, but an oriental rug was layered on top, the chair is a different color, the coffee table is interesting and there are plants and throw pillows.

Thanks for all the great advice.

How many colors is too many?

Also thinking of making the room as having 2 separate section. One the TV area and another seating area.

Gosh - how big is your tv since you're saying it has to be delivered. Two fabric chairs would be nice in this space.

You might consider moving the sectional back to it facing the TV and allowing you to use the sliders. Once that is done, look at moving the black cabinet to where the plant is, and then look at adding a large coffee table, some C-tables, and a large piece of artwork on the wall where the black cabinet currently is. You could also add two swivel chairs on the rug near the slider. Here are a few images from recent designs of ours. Please take a moment to look through them for more ideas.
