I have planted blue Camassia bulbs in my orchard and the bigger whites in a garden bed and they come up the first year and then disappear. I live at 1500 ft and we get 60 inches of rain a year (none in the summer); we have very sharp draininage being at the top of a small mountain in Oregon zone 8. Why won't they come back? Gophers are said not to like them, but I wonder....we have lots of gophers.
