Your water borne roots work dfferently than those that originated in a soil or soil-less medium. Your best plan for the success of your plant is to give those long roots a big cut with sharp scissors. That act will encourage the rapid development of a new root system, one that is better equipped to benefit from living in a solid medium. Water borne roots must be able to access oxygen from water. Soil borne roots grab oxygen, water, and dissolved elements from the air pockets in a medium.

I have potted up pothos with long water grown roots in potting mix without much hiccups, barely a yellow leaf. Don't curl/bunch them up, just spread them out while potting up. They don't need to be straight or vertical, just reasonably spread so that they are throughout the potting mix. Keep it out of sun and moist (not sogging wet but also not bone dry) while they adjust for a couple of weeks. Good luck.
