Last year I grew sweet corn for the first time. Prepared a patch on sandy loam with lots of composted manure. Planted the corn and it did beautifully - until I started looking for the actual corn itself - ZIP, NADA, NOTHING. I did give the corn a couple of side dressings of nitrogen. Any ideas on what went wrong? I really want to another crack at it this year, but don't want a repeat of last year.
