We are installing a desk/work area in the family room next to the kitchen. Does this require a backsplash or does it look good as is. The quartz countertop is the same as what we are using for the kitchen. The kitchen backsplash will be the quartz countertop extending up to the wall. Should I do the same for this desk area or leave as is? I intend to put books in the middle shelf and small decorative items and photos on the top shelf underneath the recessed lighting.
