Quick Framebridge custom Gallery Wall update

We have not hung them yet, but we did open the boxes. A few things.

1. I like them every much!

2. They are very lightweight. I kind of like that, but some people may not.

3. They are plexiglass not glass, at least I think so. I am fine w that, YMMV

4. They do not come with a hanging template per se (a big piece of paper you tack to the wall that tells you where to nail). They do not do that for custom designs; only for the Galley Wall layout packages. Kind of makes sense but I did not realize it in advance.

5. Some of the mat sizing and layout is a little odd. I understand why they did it in the context of the gallery wall, and it was fully disclosed in advance, but some of them have a lot of extra mat in order to make the mix of sizes and orientations work. They could look odd outside the context of a gallery wall.

I will post when we get them hung up. If they look good. This may require marital counseling.

Can’t wait to see!! And I can totally relate to the picture-hanging marital challenge! Dh has spent many hours measuring, nailing, re-nailing (when I change my mind,) and patching and painting holes. Always a fab time, 10/10! 🤣🤣

Should be fun to put together. I hang the pictures in our home. I was trying to hang 3 pictures all even by the top of the frame in our bedroom. My DH did not need to know that between the three pictures there were 18 incorrect holes behind them.

Kind of a bummer that there’s not a hanging template. I would have expected to receive one with a gallery wall purchase. Looking forward to seeing the completed gallery.

We would not even attempt that hanging project. Good luck!

to clarify there is a very detailed template for the custom order, just not lifesize like their other gallery walls

Can you hear my tapping toe, waiting for a photo? I really can’t wait to see the results!

Might you make your own template on paper on the floor, then tape it to the wall to hang the pics?

They do provide customized instructions and a mockup, but my advice would be to go with one of their existing gallery wall layouts so that you get the nice big life size template telling you exactly where to put nails. This was not that easy; esp in a 1856 house where nothing is square or level.

One thing I really like is the larger frames have corner brackets so they stay in place! Those are great. I am tempted to take down our gallery wall in Maine and rehang them with corner brackets. But won't.

I don't think the colors are registering right here. The sofa (velvet) is not as dark IRL. When i tried to adjust it the walls came out too light. Anyway, it's a decent shot of the gallery wall and now someone is sleeping in there so I can't take any more pics.

It looks beautiful, Mtn, just as I knew it would. :) It's all framed and matted to be together so it looks just right. What are corner brackets?

I really like the layout and how cohesive it is as a whole. I was a bit worried the mats were too wide and too light but the finished product demonstrates clearly that without the wider mats there would be far too much color and the photos would be too busy to hang together.…like TMI iin wall form, iykwim.

Wow! Looks fantastic. When I had a gallery wall, I used little pieces of museum putty to keep the frames straight. It does not leave a mark when you take it off the wall.

    Take one further back!

I think I missed the sofa delivery. Fabulous and comfortable too.

Eld, the room is 10x11, no such thing as further back. I'm just pleased it fits a Q sleeper sofa.

In other news, I am rethinking the other wall. I was going to use this TV cabinet from Maine (I am removing it from the living room because the adjoining new sunroom addition will have a TV and we don't need two.

But now that it is up, I really hate covering any of the mural. Nothing on it and as little as possible in front. And we have found the TV in the MBR fine for viewing, to our surprise. (We have never had TVs in any of our MBR).

So we are nixing the TV cabinet for something open, like a console. Better yet, a console/writing desk.

Also, Mr. Wynn really looks fab in front of this mural and he could not go on top of the TV cab (it opens automatically from the top.) But he could be happy on a console.

As far as a TV, my DH has a crazy idea about hiding something in the closet ...

    Meantime I am desk/console shopping.

Probably not very good quality, but I liked the brass legs. Wayfair has several other desk/consoles with brass legs.

I like the third console you posted MtnRd. it seems to not block the mural at all.

I love the burl wood -- my favorite of the options.

I am not feeling the tiger pillows but I always prefer leopard. I wouldnt be concerned about theme-y between LR and sitting room. They are very different spaces and each has its own personality.
