Mantle

We have a large kitchen/living room; need help with the mantle! We have high ceilings and the large TV is to the left of the fireplace. Any ideas on mantle decoration? I don't want to take away from the beautiful stone! Large painting or layering? Any input is appreciated!

Large art work there instead of all the small things there now. It will just seem.......cleaner looking.

I agree with above ideas of just one large piece of art. To keep it from competing with the stone (which is indeed beautiful), find a piece that has muted colors similar to the colors of the stone - and make sure you love it as much as you love the stone!

Thank you! I think that is what I need, one large piece of art to fill the space. We are not fans of the TV over the fireplace, frankly it is too high. Now to find the perfect piece!

Yes, the scrolly frame is too busy. You need a larger painting centered above the fireplace. Ideas.

If you want to have something else on the mantle (other than a painting above it), you could, but not as many as you have now. Also, when grouping items together, try to have an odd number (for example, 3 candle holders instead of 2).
