I am considering installing a floating media console (I don't like visible wires from the side view and I have 5.5" tall baseboards) in my den that will be roughly 15" deep, 9" off the floor and 72" wide. Its left edge faces an open space and hallway, the other side is about a foot from the corner of the room. When I'm ready to replace the carpet, will installers be able to get to the tack strips and stretch the carpet correctly or am I inviting problems? Thanks!
