Table and chairs - mismatch or same chairs

last year

Hi everyone, I just received what I think is a gorgeous table and I had my eye on the two chairs that you see in the pictures below for a while. I really wanted to put all the chairs around the table, but I’m not sure if it’s too much and I’m wondering if I can Put different chairs on the sides and how would I go about trying to match? I’m thinking maybe just a plain beige chair with a similar design.? Any thoughts on whether all should be the same? It’s an 8 person table but these chairs on the sides will be a tight fit because of the arms. Thank you!

The table is joss and Maine. I love the chairs and I want that kind of vibe. My question was if I can leave those two as the end chairs and use different chairs for the sides. I imagine I would have to find chairs of similar style except maybe in all cloth without the arms?

The Tommy Bahama patio looking chairs make the table look like a conference table curbside find. They are fine on their own but together they bring out the worst in each other. For this reason, if you must keep both, I would suggest getting different middle chairs and without arms. Look for something that is solid black so it coordinates with the black legs for the end chairs.

The chairs are beautiful but with that table they look too short.

I agree with Kendrah. I got the conference table vibe too.

Here are some pics of the exact same table from
Crate and barrel and how they match it up with chairs. These chairs are also low on the sides. Wishbone style chairs. And then the rattan chairs also. Thanks for the comments. I really appreciate it.

Also the pics I posted are not
Styled. I’m not keeping that area rug. It doesn’t go with that table
Or the chairs. I like to mix modern with rustic boho styles. But it’s def tricky to do.

It looks like all the chairs in your latest pics willl slide under the top of the table, which keeps them from looking like a bit of a mismatch. I think that’s what I noticed first about your original choice, they can’t be pushed all the way in. Any of the latest pics would look nice depending on your preference. Eta: I looked again and even tho the ends of the arms slide under the table, it looks as if the curve up to the back and the depth of the chair prevent them from sliding all the way under. That may be contributing to the conference table vibe because that is often how office chairs fit around a table. I think the first wishbone chairs look wonderful with it in the PB pics.

I have no problem with your rug and the table or your rug and the chairs. Its just the table and chairs. The first and third Crate and Barrel have features to them that are very much in sync with the table. The second set of chairs are more off but still related well. Your chairs don't related to the Crate and Barrel chairs or the table. They truly look like Costco patio furniture next to that table.

As others have noted, the chairs in the inspiration pic are not the same as the chairs in the first photo, which read much more outdoor casual than your nice table.
