Key question - which is used more - shower or tub? I’m guessing shower, so I would put a mat in front of the shower. That also keeps the mat away from the door. If you need a mat for the tub and don’t use the tub often, just have a “towel type” mat handy to put down when needed.

What if we use them equally?

Use an indoor outdoor runner they cone in more sizes than bath rugs and there might be one long enough to cover both egresses.
