Oooh, that is pretty flower! I've never heard of this plant nor have I ever seen in for sale locally. What can you tell me about it?

i know astermoea mongolica. its clearly a relative to yours posted but perhaps less yellow at the center? Or maybe not?.

i liked it too. Helpful to late summer garden but as i member rabbit fodder.

i remember late summer, not mid. i did not try pinching. the height was helpful but it could flop.

I can’t tell you much about them as I only purchased them last fall. But the flowers remind me of mums but a bit smaller, on thin, long-ish stems that give them a bit of a wildflower feel and lots of movement on the breeze, which is charming. I used them as a foil to my shorter, mound-ier woods blue aster and the larger flowered Montauk daisy which obviously also bloom in fall.

I no longer grow any asters...but if I did, they would be getting the Chelsea Chop this week. A lot of other tall perennials are getting the hack (although as usual, have left it a bit late with an awful lot of falling over plantage).
