Memorial Day Seedlings

last modified: 2 years ago

We got a lot of rain and lightning last night, and the gardens were so wet when I took pictures this morning. I have a lot more seedlings than registered daylilies blooming at this time.

Pink Panther Paws X Sultry Girls looks totally different than it did last year. It will probably have the best plant habit of any seedling here this season. With an 8.5 inch bloom it demands attention, along with four-way branching and at least 21 buds. It came from seeds I bought from Laura.

Pink Extraordinaire X $exy Samantha #1

Stinger X Razor Sharp was looking good today. In past years most of the blooms were damaged by thrips.

Roaring Rapids X Razor Sharp #1 with it's first flower ever - It has a 6.5 inch bloom and unusual petal color. I like the teeth because they're all white. My other Razor Sharp babies have a combination of cream white and gold teeth.

Judy's Jewel X Bubblegum Queen #1 is about an inch taller than last year. The two sibs and mama Judy's Jewel were impacted more by winter's below zero temps. Their scapes are 3-5 inches shorter than last year. This seedling looks like it won't attain the 18 buds it got last year.

Jurassic Pink X Bubblegum Queen - This one multiplies well, but I don't see improvements in height or bud count this year.

I Remember You X Kindred Jewel #1
