the daisy-like ones: probably Erigeron karvinskianus, a short lived, selfseeding plant. I heave heavy loam on which this lovely thing does not thrive.

You know your stuff! I planted the gaura (whirling butterflies) and the erigeron karvinskianus. I love them both and hope they thrive here. The poor erigeron spent a week in a holding chamber with UPS and once planted she got eaten to the ground by baby bunnies.
tradescantie seems to be spiderwort? I haven’t a clue where it came from and don’t love it… but maybe I’ll let it grow a bit and see what happens. The neighbors all have it in purple and so it seems to be happy here.

Yes! I planted cosmos, too! And Ammi Majus. The seeds were so inexpensive and I got excited. I was picturing a lovely meadow but hope it doesn’t all end up looking too weed-y!

Oh I just looked up asiatic dayflower and that is exactly what it looks like! I’ve decided I don’t like any of these spiderwort type plants and will pull them now that I know what they will look like. Thank you so much!

the asiatic dayflower has the most beautiful blue little flower, really a stunning color. If you only have one, do let it bloom in a few weeks and THEN pull it up cuz it reseeds like crazy. I actually collected seed somewhere else and threw it around at my own place, and it reseeds in every garden bed. But it is very easy to pull up. I overlooked that at the place where i collected the seed there are no garden beds! So it only grew where the mower did not keep it in check.
