Wednesday's flowers in Indiana

We had only two new named varieties today.

Ancient Elf is a small flower on a tall scape.

Peter' Pan's Kiss is 2.25 inches across. It's a 2024 intro of ours.

All of the rest are seedlings. We definitely had a Queen of the Garden today. It's not a new one though. It is Small World Fire in the Hole X Stoke the Fire and I am sure I have posted it too many times. We lined it out in single fans last August and it is doing well. I haven't taken stats yet (they are still expanding), but one scape had five way branching. We are very happy with it and hope to introduce it in 2027. We will divide it into single fans again this fall. Hopefully we will have about 10-12 units to sell in 2027.

The next two are siblings--Small World Fire in the Hole X Bucklebury Ferry. Pardon Bob's leg--he had to hold a scape from a sibling that was leaning over the first one. These are two years old.

We are not sure of the parentage of this one. It is in the 'crush zone' and had lost its tag. I didn't have the maps with me. I think it is Tom Adams X Purple Peek-a-boo. It's not a very big flower, but I love the color.

Two lilies are blooming today.

Tonight it will be chilly which will impact the flowers tomorrow. I hope we have some pretty ones.

The Small World/Buckleberry seedling has a nice color and more edge than BB. Hope I am still alive for the Stoke the Fire intro.

Mantis, now that I think about it, the Stoke the Fire intro might be ready in 2026. We lined out 8 single fans last August and if each is a double by the end of this season, we might have 16 double fans by 2026. I am not sure one year makes much difference at our age. We are trying to move along our intros because we aren't getting any younger.

The Stoke the Fire seedling is so bright and cheerful. The edge really ”makes” it for this one! I really like that first Bucklebury seedling. I hope that one makes the cut.

Small World Fire in the Hole X Bucklebury Ferry is my favorite, But, I really like Small World Fire in the Hole X Stoke the Fire also.

I'd love to have your nights forecast just for a day or so (but not too much longer). Your 2nd seedling is pretty. I do like maroon and yellow combos. Needless to say I'm also drawn to your pink Lily.............Maryl

Wow! I love both of the Small World Fire seedlings! Congrats on getting five-way branching on that first one! Those bright colors are really waking me up this morning. I like the way the eye darts out on the midribs of the second one.
