We need a to scale floor plan for . How old is your son? Why a queen bed in such a small space ?I usually do not do dressers in tiny bedrooms but just good closet oraginizers instead . Does your son ever sit at at desk to do homework? I find that few kids do.

You do NOT have room for any meaningful desk and chair, so forget it.

Kids sit on a bed for homework, they sit in your kitchen, and they sit ANYWHERE but at that desk, so don't waste money on a thing that will not fit.

It is what it is, unless you want a twin bed.

A lower headboard, a rug, more interesting bedding, a better bedside lighting situation.

You can watch stream/watch tv on an ipad, so I might re think the tv. for art.....shelves for display even as the closet doors are mirrored.

Have you tried the folllowing layout? With the headboard on the large wall, you can decorate above it and the bed is not facing the mirror. The situation with the little lamp cord stretched like that is not safe. If there is an outlet on the large wall, then it wouldn't be a problem with this layout. My son piled his clothes on top of the dresser too and never hung anything up :-). If the dresser will fit inside the closet and the drawers can be easily opened, that would be my option. I have a similar situation in one of our bedrooms. Too many doors and windows and not enough large wall space!:-) Start with getting the layout where it works for him...device charging station, maybe some hooks to hang shirt and pants.

A 14-year-old probably doesn't need a queen sized bed. I'd downsize the bed to a twin and put in in the upper right corner of your drawing with the long side of the bed flush against the non-window wall. Then you'll have room for a desk for homework on the opposite side. Put a large rug on the floor. Then I'd do closet organizers with drawers and hanging space so you don't have to take up space with a dresser. Throw a bean bag chair in there and you're set to go. P.S. As a mom of former teenagers, I'd advise against a TV in his room. He already has plenty of distractions to keep him from doing homework. Don't add another one.

Jan's plan will work well. Add a big laundry hamper with no lid (better chance of clothes actually getting put in it) and a large washable plastic wastebasket. Chests with drawers are more likely to be used (teen opens drawer, throws things in) than a closet organizer that has shelves in which only neatly folded things will fit.

Why are you asking strangers ? Ask your son this is his space , he must have stuff he likes like soccer , hockey for instance Our boys had huge cork boards on the walls so that the thing thye loved for the moment could have a place to hang posters etc without wrecking the walls but the bedding they chose not me.

So you have a nearly black headboard, a gray rug, and will have more gray on the bedding in some combination..............what does your SON think : ) ?

No cream bedding, just no with a 14 year old boy :-) and all gray, way too dreary. Look for a stripe, plaid, or geometric bedding.

Put shelves in half the closet and get rid of the dresser. I did this in my son’s bedroom and it worked well from the time he was three and through his teenage years. There was a full length shelf across the top above the hanging bar. Plenty of room for clothes (folded and hanging) as well as toys, games, and bins for things like socks.

Boys don’t need full hanging room. One rod at 42” and shelves above for stuff. In fact, he might only need 1/2 the width of the closet for hanging. All my son needs is 6” for 1 set of dress clothes. 12” max.

The rug isnt grey its cream and tan the headboard is dark grey and wood

I like your inspiration pictures. I googled “gray and cream bedding” and saw some nice patterned options you might consider. I have 2 sons and they never cared about shopping or picking out bedding. Duvet covers worked best for us. You can do it, good luck!

Felicia, decorating a 14 year old boys room is one of the hardest things you can decorate. They have definite ideas of what they like and don't like. Might be best to ask your son to help you choose his color scheme, bedding and decor ;-).
