There are shades on stands you can use on your patio. It's kind of hard to tell where you would attach one to your house over the patio since the pics don't really show the house well. You might need to install some attachment posts on the edges of your patio to attach the sail to.

Seems as if an table with an unbrella would work since you have the trees which will grow before you know it. W ehave a round table with an umbrella on out patiom and I used to have a retangular table with retangular umbrella on our deck (deck was 10' off the ground). Both seemed to give us enough privacy and I prefer that look to a sail cloth. Now the deck is a screened porch, so potted plants serve the purpose, although my trees are mature, so privacy is not really a problem..

These go ones more step up on the cantilever as well, for even more blockage - but seem to just fine here, i have them down with extra paving stones right now which seem to be working and hopefully my trees will grow in next year
