These all look great. I've given up on Great Expectations, having lost two, each after less than a year.

Debra, no big secrets here other than finding the right spots for each hosta. This is my second Great Expectations and it got moved last fall to a shadier spot. It is four times the size it was, thought it was a goner. My Dancing Queen was moved 2 seasons ago. It was happy for several years under my blue spruce…. it shrunk…..tree roots no doubt. l am learning what I can grow under that forty yo tree, more than you might think. The last photo and the third from last are under the spruce, you can see a bit of the trunk in one photo.

Wow Sherry!..not just group shots but close ups and IDs!..I do see and appreciate the effort!..it’s on my mind to take pictures..all of your hostas look good but Wheee! blew me away..mine is cute but very under sized..when my ground isn’t soggy I should move it..moving helped my Empress Wu..

Ann, glad you checked in! Love the hummingbirds here too. I dont have a feeder but they come to my garden for the flowers. I have lantana in pots on my patio, they absolutely love it. They also like my rose of sharon, phlox, butterfly bush and hosta flowers.

Sherry..I’ve seen them on hosta blooms too..I bought a small lantana..still haven’t planted it in a nice pot with other things (my plan)..when I do I’ll put the pot near the feeder where I can see it!..

I have never had a hummingbird, but have had the hummingbird moth on flowers. I hesitate whet a feeder because of my outdoor cats.

Everything looks great. -I've lost 4 Great Expectations, so that's it for me. I bought them at a local nursery and pampered them in large pots with a special mixture of soil, fertilizer, bark-both shredded and large chunks, mushroom compost, etc. Other hostas thrive not GE they just up and die. Whee! is extraordinary. June looks so pretty next to the astilbe.

No astilbe here. I think you are seeing blooms on my Heuchera, Paris, has bright pink blooms.

Looking good! Love Great expectations! How big it was when you moved it? I moved mine and feel it lost size even that it was as big clump as I could get.

Lindalana, Great Expectations had leaf diameter of 4” last season. This season leaf diameter is 9”. I was extremely happy with the result……thought I was looking at my second failure last spring.
