I did not think Trex was paintable. If it is, it still sounds like a nightmare to me as it will not wear well and cleaning it will most likely cause the paint to come off.

I’ve been told you can paint trex but I think I am going to just stick with painting the wood railings….

I wanted my Trex deck painted, my painter refused the job. He wasn't confident it would adhere properly and couldn't guarantee his work. I trust his professional assessment -- in business a long time, have used him multiple times, not a joker off the street. So no -- don't paint the Trex.
