I agree all the same but have you thought about just painting the trim the same color as the walls to make them less of a thing. I do that a lot same color only trim in satin walls in matte finish I will say in this pic we kept the original ceilings replaced all the original type trim and high lighted it with very contemporay design IMO either works

I would use the same molding. It is more contemporary as Patricia says, to have the wall and trim the same color in the same room.
