Houzz again! Here is Flight of Orchids

Love your garden shot! Despite all those darn bugs you showed us some great clumps shots today. Are the bugs a smaller issue in the garden shot above?…....it looks so pretty.

Hope the deer and that darn cow stay out of your garden…..yes I remember the cow. ; )

Sherry, so funny you remember the cow! I still have daylilies recovering from that episode! Yes, you nailed it on the garden bed. The most impacted beds are located in what I call my roadside area. There is lots more vegetation around that bed which I think is nurturing and harboring the bugs. This front bed is home to around 300 plants and other than some small beds around my house contains all the blooms I will be showing. I have been spraying these more diligently since this is the bed where more plants have survived!

Rumba Numba (love the name!) is dancing away in your tropical weather! I've got the same weather here this week. Flight of Orchids makes a pretty clump, and I really like both seedlings from Celeste's crosses. Big Blue Lake is attractive, but I don't see anything blue about it. I thought I had bought that one last year, but it turned out to be Big Boy Butterfly, which I don't care for at all.

Love those clumps! Your Rumba Numba is larger than mine, it does attract attention. I really like the seedlings from Celeste, of course, I love purple.

The clump of Deliverer is huge. Love your garden pic. Celeste's crosses look good too. Truly Exotic is interesting with that pattern. How are things with the other gardens in getting the "bugs" under control?

Debra, I see no blue in Big Blue Lake either!! It is new and those are first flowers and it had rained on it so I will give it a pass today.

Nancy, Rumba Numba is huge. Thankfully it puts up a lot of scapes!

Julia, I do like Deliverer although blooms fade fast in heat and humidity. With rain every day my neighbor has not been able to bring his tractor in to bush hog them. I am fully committed to mowing them down and beginning a new treatment plan. Why have them if I can never see a bloom?!! I drive around the lawn and gardens on my golf cart with my sprayer and kill the ones I see with contact spray.

Oh, Kate! Please send some rain my way! (but not those awful bugs, please). I wish I kept a journal of the seed crosses I sent you. But looking at those two seedlings I can tell you with quite a bit of certainty what would be one of the parents. The first one could possibly have either Entwined in the Vine or Kingdom Bound as the pollen parent (neither set pods) but I made so many crosses! I know I did send you the cross of Sweet Summer Song x Entwined in the Vine so maybe that's it?.....but I sent others it could be as well. As for the second seedling, I would put money on it being out of Buzzer Beater. (If I were to make a wild guess, I'd say it's Buzzer Beater x Invention). I made lots of crosses using it both as pod and pollen and it has that distinctive 'look' about it. I hope you'll get to see some blooms on the plants I sent you. You sure have hard luck with assorted creatures and varmits.....LOL

I think my favorite clump shot is Flight of Orchids. The name looks like what is happening. Really like your garden shot too. At least all is not lost. So colorful...........Maryl

Celeste, where have you been??!!! You have been greatly missed!! You know how bad I am at keeping up with info!! I was actually better with these but that was before the cow episode!! Funny you mentioned EITV because that is the first thing I thought when I saw it. I hope you have some wonderful seedlings to post!!

Maryl, no, the front bed is not lost-at least not entirely.

Your Deliverance has looked so good this season. Here, it was just all splotches. I see that Rumba Numba is a Davisson. How would you evaluate Cloud of Witnesses. I think this is the one that Emmerich described as Munson-like.

Deliverer is having a wonderful bloom year and it looks great. Rumba Numba is a great clump shot. I haven't had that many blooms at once on mine.

Truly is a pretty one. Big Blue Lake is my pick today. Gardn shots are always a favorite. Thank you for sharing your rain.

Lots of pretty ones! Cloud of Witnesses is my favorite of all of these. Blackberry Dragon is so nice and dark.

We too have rain everyday, massive downpours sometimes, then that humidity too! But the results: amazing numbers on the scapes and they all look to be well budded.

Friday-Sunday promises to be low humidity and no rain, perfect weekend!

Kay, I know your Deliverer has also been a bloomer this year. And yes Rumba Numba has also been a bloomer!

Mantis, I picked 26 blooms off Deliverer yesterday so yes it has been good this year with fairly clean blooms-especially considering the rain. Cloud of Witnesses has been a good performer and has multiplied fairly well. The blooms are large and I wish the scapes were taller. I was surprised at the first bloom-it was huge and so pale I did not recognize it as Cloud but subsequent blooms have been much darker normal colors.

I love your garden shot. The clump of Deliverer is nice and Flight of Orchids is too. The seedlings are pretty. Both have rather dramatic coloring.
