What is the idea of the pass through? how is that a benefit ? id also remove the 42 in high bookcase and add 12 in to the island drawer stack. mostly id prefer a single door pantry 18 in wide…next to fridge….skooch stove and hood to the right and get more wall cabs instead of pass through.

Only you can know if it is enough cabinet space. It may be fine for some but not others. It wouldnt be enough for me. Best bet is to go through everything you want to store in the kitchen and decide where it will go. Pots and pans, everyday dishes, drinking glasses, coffee mugs, silverware, colanders etc. Are you coffee drinkers? If so where will the coffee maker go? Do you keep a toaster out and if so where will that go?

You never know when you will add a small appliance, cooking tool or pot, etc. Yes, count and measure what you have, and consider how you manage meals from cooking to cleanup. Where and how things are stored is as important as IF they can be stored. And plan for flexibility.

and btw, if there are going to be pullouts behind cabinet doors, why not just make them drawers and eliminate a motion? Or, perhaps there is good reason for them, besides looks.

Clearances around the island may be tight. Consider doing away with the island seating and put a bistro table or banquette seating in the bay window.

OR what about an L-shaped kitchen with a small island or cart -- more wall = more upper cabs.

The pass through + hood seems wacky to me, it would be helpful to see the drawing of the rest of the home to understand what this is about.

It looks like a giant island was placed where it doesn’t belong. if thats your priority it is at the sacrafice of other cabinets. an L shaped kitchen with small island or table seems like it would be better suited for the space. i’m also a bit confused by the pass through behind stove and the big bay window with nothing in it.

The cabinet in the lower left looks a little lost, though I’m sure it will be useful. What is the traffic pattern through the kitchen, with doors in opposite corners?

Cram in an island at all costs is not working. You need a different layout entirely.
