UF Seedlings From This Week

I'm having trouble remembering what I have and haven't posted this week. So if I posted any of these exact same photos before, please forgive me.

Here are the sibs to the red watermarked UF I posted earlier in June. They came from seeds I bought from Laura Ritter Schultz.

Pink Panther Paws X Sultry Girls - This cascade looks more like Sultry Girls. All segments tightly curl, and if they were straightened out, they would be more than 8 inches in diameter. The scape is about 30 inches tall with some lateral branching.

Pink Panther Paws X Sultry Girls 3 - This is the tallest of the sibs at 35 inches tall. This one doesn't have any lateral branching. When it first bloomed it looked red. The second bloom looked purple. Neither of the first two blooms showed watermark, but today's bloom has one. I would say it's a burgundy purple that sometimes shows a blue purple watermark. At first I thought I didn't like this one, but it's growing on me. I wish it would look like this photo every day.

Make It Snappy X White Eyes Pink Dragon - This is another one from Laura's seeds. Huge bloom on a short scape - grubs likely got to it's roots.

No Boys Allowed X Entwined in the Vine #2 - This one is a little taller this year, but no improvement on bud count.

I like the first Pink Panther Paws X. I think the curling petals are interesting, would add contrast to the garden. Please post more of this one if possible.

Sultry is sometimes splotchy, so seedling performance in that aspect would be interesting. Sultry is much more bluish purple here.

Mantis - My camera adds red tones to all the purples. Next time I'll photograph PPP2 with a different camera that makes the purples bluer than they really are. The reality of the color will somewhere in the middle of those photos. So far none of the PPP X Sultry Girls has been splotchy - even after rainy mornings and mornings with heavy dew.

I am still a Confessions fan! There is just something unique about that look. It is great that splotchiness does not mar the Sultry Girls seedlings.

Here's a photo of PPP X Sultry G2 taken with a different Nikon camera that gives everything blue tones. The petals were not as tightly curled today as on previous openings.

They are all very pretty, usual but the first one is my pick today I quite like the second one too.

Kate - I'm always happy to see another Confessions fan. I do think the flower has a unique look.

Kay and Sherry - Pink Panther Paws X Sultry Girls 2 is sort of neat with those segments that curl up like a bow. I don't know of many other daylilies that do that - maybe Davisson's Plumcake Patty.
