I love your two vibrant reds, and Orchids and Gold is always a winner. I wouldn't be moving pots too much if that's what you find under them. I seem to find another reptile under my pots an skirting around my raised beds - lizards,

Happy Valentine, To God be the Glory, and Rudy's Sister top my list today. So very pretty!!!!

My Happy Valentine just finished blooming. It grows in mostly shade so keeps its color fairly well. Your Orchids and Gold always looks so pretty. Rudy’s Sister is a winner as well. Bless you for staying with your pot culture-it can’t be easy for you!

You always have lovely photos. I like the unregistered yellow, that green throat makes it special. I like Sips of Sins, you do like those Hensleys. I have a mixed bag with them here, some do well, none are prolific…..glad Incan enjoy yours.

All the daylilies are beautiful. Hard to imagine you grow all of the daylilies in pots. I'm no fan of snakes and prefer they keep their distance.

Orchids and Gold is my kind of bloom! So voluptuous and feminine with the fancy edges.....yummy. I always wonder how it would fare here in my northern climate and that keeps me from getting it. But it's lovely for you there.

Beautiful as usual. I like a lot of ordinary lilies and the reds are lovely. To god Be the Glory is a jewel too.

Maryl, a couple questions, if I may: How many plants do you have in pots and, more importantly, how often do you change the mix in each pot?

I suppose that Sips is a deeper red, but it didn't seem that much different from Heartless. Was Heartless too bright? To God Be the Glory is my choice.

Debra: I'm no macho woman and anything that suddenly appears under or in pots startles me. Frogs occasionally will burrow down into the soil mix and you start seeing the soil lifting upward on it's own. It does give one pause.. ...Mantis: On all the reds I've shown I mentioned they were spring bloomers this year (who knows about next). Heartless last year started out alright, but when higher heat came the color "dulled" after noon and was not pretty to me. Sips of Sin didn't seem to alter it's color, but again, our temperatures were mostly in the high 80's when it bloomed (and is still blooming)..........Thank you Brad: Unfortunately To God Be the Glory is not winter hardy and resides in my garage over winter. If you could shelter it over winter, I could certainly see it in your garden.......Kate: There we are again with the same taste. My Happy Valentine was in full sun and kept it's color really well this spring. I bought it at a nursery because the tag said "colorfast". Music to my ears.........Celeste: Orchids and Gold has a face that I love. But among other faults it is not winter hardy at all and stays in my garage until spring. ............Sherry: Thanks for the comments. I've gone through many Dale Hensley daylilies over the years of various colors. So it's been trial and error. However with few exceptions they all had some merit to one degree or another. In other words none were really bad. Just my "not enough room" problem again. Some may be more geared for a warmer climate then yours too............Thank You Kay and Julia. Sorry Dave. I missed yours. As to how many pots I have - well, there are way too many. I love flowers, bulbs, C&S, foliage, etc., not just daylillies. Most of the "etc" do not over winter here, so every spring it's a new year of potting whatever plants that are available to fill in other ornamental areas in my garden..........Daylilies come first though, and I divide, root prune and freshen the potting mix on each of my daylilies every spring. The potting mix is my own blend of various ingredients, along with Osmocote Plus as the initial fertilizer. It's quite an undertaking each spring, and every year I say I'm going to cut back. But we all know how that goes............Maryl
