im not doing upper cabinets in my kitchen and im having a hard time figuring out how far to place my 4” recessed lights from the wall. i read somewhere that 36” from the wall is ideal and had my contractor run the wire there but im now thinking this is too far since i wont have under cabinet lighting for task. the only other lighting will be two pendants over the island and two sconces flanking range on this main run. Im thinking to maybe keep them at 36” and add some sort of task light over the sink. what would you do?
