Has anyone ordered from Plow & Hearth?

Sorry to say that this excellent company is going out of business. I just talked to one of their customer service people and was informed of this. Bummer. They offered quality merchandise. =(

Judi - I didn't think to ask when this will happen, I was just too shocked by the info. Several years ago I ordered the most gorgeous fireplace screen from them -- just love it.

Oh no! This is my source for Nyaker Ginger Snaps. I’ve been getting discount offers from them lately but had no idea it was leading to this.

Sad to hear this. They seemed to be a solid company with quality items. I have ordered quite a few items from there in the past.

I used to order from them, and I agree - quality items. I have their all-weather wicker chase, have owned it for years and it is still in great shape. Also have ordered outdoor cushions and furniture covers from them in the past. Always enjoyed browsing their catalogs.

Our local brick/mortar store closed a few years ago, can't recall if it was before pandemic or not. It was a lovely store. I got cushions for the front porch patio chairs and bench there.

Actually, the Madison, VA store is still open. I have found that recently their quality has deteriorated. As has LL Bean and Land's End!

Whistle_b, we have four wrought iron bounce chairs we bought at the Madison store on our way home from visiting a cousin decades ago. They are still in great condition. I may put a coat of paint on them this year, though. even though they don't really need it.

"I have found that recently their quality has deteriorated. As has LL Bean and Land's End!"

Land's End quality went down the tubes a long time ago. The downhill slide started when they got into bed with Sears. Overpriced cr*p nowadays, I don't even bother anymore.

Quite some time ago (back in the Sears days), a representative from Land's End called me to ask for feedback because I had an excessive number of returns in a relatively short time period. I gave her my honest assessment -- that LE used to be great quality and worth the high price tag but now the quality is terrible and you're losing your loyal customers because not everyone is price-focused, there are many of us out there who WILL pay more for a quality item that will last.

cyn427. the key here is "years ago"!

mxk3, It is so disappointing ! LE runs sales 40 and 50% off and the stuff is not even worth sending back! I do still order from Bean because I live near a store and don't have to pay postage to return.

I bought a Tree of Life fireplace guard from them a long time ago and still use it. I think Plow and Hearth is really expensive for the products they offer. Probably why they are shutting down.

That’s sad news, I have a few of their obelisks and love them.

I bought a curved firewood rack from them probably 35 or more years ago. It sits on a covered porch and holds enough firewood to keep my wood stove fed for about a week if the power is off. Especially nice if it’s snowy so I don’t have to visit the woodshed. It’s still like new and very attractive. I’m sorry to hear they are closing.

Over the years I've purchased quite a few items from them and have always been pleased. Sorry to read that they're going our of business. I still miss Smith and Hawken!

I returned some kids clothes to Lands End yesterday for my DIL and was surprised to find out that my local store is closing in July. At least my LLBean is still open.
