We remodeled our home recently, and replaced a wood-burning fireplace with a gas one, but still have the same issue as before - where to put the TV! Before, we hung it on the wall to the left of the fireplace, but it was over the doorway trim a little. There will be a 9" stone surround around the fireplace. The mantle is now 46" at the top (meaning if we hung the tv anywhere over the mantle, the bottom of the TV would be at least 46").

Also, we generally sit on the left side of this photo (so the HVAC return is kind of in front of the middle of the couch if that makes sense).

Do I get rid of mantle and slightly cover the fireplace surround with edge of TV? Cover the trim a little again? Just give up and hang above mantle?

Any advice appreciated!!
