Blooms from the weekend.

Let me start off by saying that I have been enjoying all of the bloom posts this year. I probably won't post too often this year or make extensive comments this year as I am in the process of moving my entire garden to my new home. Long story short, my wife and I have separated and she is not a gardener and wants the plants to go. I will probably have them all moved by the end of August. Enough of my story, on to the pictures.

SILOAM MELVIN'S YELLOW as a single and then a polytepal. A very reliable early season bloomer. Blooming three weeks after being moved.

POLY ESTHER: Will throw a poly bloom every so often, but not today.

JP MONEYBAGS: A very consistent performer.

SILOAM LOUISE WATTS: A cute small pink out of Siloam Apple Blossom.

PURE AND SIMPLE: The orange this year is more intense than in previous years. It was a hot one yesterday and as this picture was taken around 2 pm.

LILY AMONG THORNS (or weeds based upon the picture). This was new this spring and this is the FFE in my new garden. Karol sent three fans of the plants I ordered.

WHITE TOOTH: Debra sent this to me this spring. I think I will have to harvest the pollen as I have plans for this plant, but this plant is still on TN time schedule. Thanks again Debra.

That is all for now.

You have my empathy on what you must be going through. Both physically and emotionally. Moving all those plants will certainly keep your mind occupied most of the time. Are you staying in the same state?............The one that stands out to me is Pure and Simple. I just know it would fade out in my climate (100 degrees now), but pictures like yours are still enticing. What a great color and form it has. I wish more hybridizers would try producing those cool melon, orange sherbert plants for people who are craving such thing is the heat.........I too like White Tooth. Nice pattern. And of course, I always like the yellow ones.............Maryl

Moving a garden for any reason must be daunting. I really feel for you and Debra as you move through this journey though for different reasons. I hope your temps are not horrific (as mine would be!!) for the rest of the move. I do love the yellows and Siloam yellows are some of the best. Pure and Simple has been in my garden for many years. I do love its simplicity. Good luck with the rest of the plant move and hopefully you have sufficient room for all and more!

Well, quite a shock. I hope that your new yard is spacious. JP Moneybags is indeed consistent and has nicely spaced blooms.

David: So sorry to hear of the separation. Any move for any reason is hard so I hope all goes smoothly for you and the family. As for the daylilies, they all look good. Hope the heat wave didn't impact you too much. Do check in when you can and let us know where you land.

I found a home that has enough land to accomodate all my daylilies (I hope). It is only 20 minutes from my previous home. I hope my yard does not look like Paul Lewis'. If you haven't seen his youtube videos, he is quite the character. Just search for Paul Lewis daylilies on youtube. He has been doing videos for years. He is really into patterns right now.

As far as the temperatures as of late - we've been hot in the low to mid 90s. Small thunderstorms keep rolling through interrupting my planting. If that is my biggest problem, then I really don't have any problems.

Thanks for all of your support.

David - I can identify with having to move and take a garden. I'm glad you found a place nearby that's large enough to accommodate your garden. I'm still looking for a place in Indianapolis. I'm glad White Tooth is blooming for you! I hope freezing the pollen will work with your hybridizing plans. I've always love the look of Pure and Simple. I got it from Mantis once, but it disappeared. Best wishes for getting all those daylilies planted. I'm not taking all mine. And I've got to say when I see high 90s in the forecast, I can't imagine digging very many for the trip. I'm praying for at least a few cool days in July and August.
